Key Issues

Kids & Teens
Our kids need activities outside of school as they get older. I will encourage the establishment of youth programs in Woodlawn such as Scouts, youth groups, and interest activities for kids of all ages.

Road Development & Safety
We rely on state and county roads to get to Clarksville and Nashville for work, school, and shopping. I will champion road improvements in keeping with our rural character as well as county projects that help ease traffic coming in and out of our community. At the same time, I will push back on developments and road plans that encroach on our rural community.

Public Schools
I am a strong proponent of well-funded public schools as the solution to educating our future young adults.
Two of my kids went to Woodlawn Elementary. It is a wonderful school and a great resource for our community. Our other schools – New Providence Middle and North West High School – are good and the staff do a commendable job, but they are clearly older buildings that need renovations.

Jobs
For obvious reasons, there are not many job opportunities in Woodlawn and that’s actually expected. However, speaking from experience, it is challenging to find a decent paying job on the north or west side of Clarksville. I will work to bring employers to areas of Clarksville that are accessible for Woodlawn residents.
Other issues that are important to me
Small Business – as a small business owner myself, I am a huge fan of the Clarksville Downtown Farmers Market and other events that support small local businesses. I also try to shop local when possible.
The Environment – it’s important to me to be a good steward of our natural landscapes by reducing our reliance on plastics. I will look into ways to make recycling more accessible. I also believe in protecting our natural habitats, wildlife and farmlands.
Community – I support adding more resources for unhoused individuals in Montgomery County.
Affordable Childcare – having worked a job where most of my salary went towards daycare, I am in favor of bringing more options for affordable childcare to MoCo and I support Universal Pre-K.

Public Transport – I have travelled extensively in the US and Europe, I appreciate public transport and would love to see expanded options here in Montgomery County
Public Services – I will push for a paid Fire Department in Woodlawn. Currently our Fire Fighters are 100% volunteers.
Firearms – I support your right to own a firearm, but I believe that we should encourage responsible ownership and storage.
Housing – Asking prices have skyrocketed since we bought our house here in 2016. First time homebuyers are priced out of the market. I support building sturdy, modestly priced “starter homes” in our county and programs to help young people get into their first homes.

Donate to my campaign
I understand that times are hard right now, and every penny is accounted for. Honestly, I intensely dislike fundraising, but things like yard signs, and social media ads cost money. If you would be able to contribute even the smallest amount, I will be extremely honored and grateful.
